DIGITAL CONTENT CREATION
DESIGN IN A DIGITAL AGE
In today’s world, digital marketing is one of the most powerful tools that your brand can utilize. You can’t mention branding without considering how your brand shows up online. Ultimately, this all ties into brand awareness. Digital marketing reaches a large audience, and you can get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to advertising spend. All it takes is one person to share your content for their entire following to see it and interact with your brand online. The more users that see your company online, the more familiarity they will have with your brand, and the more likely they are to pick you out of the crowd from your competitors.
There are 2 basic types of digital content: Organic content and Paid (or “Boosted”) Advertising.
Organic Content
Organic content on social media are free posts, videos, stories, etc. that your brand shares. This content will be seen by your followers, as well as people who are following a hashtag that you associate with the post. For example, a wedding photography company might post a photo from their latest wedding with the hashtag #photooftheday. This hashtag has approximately 8 million followers on instagram, so the reach of the post is expanded beyond the brand’s immediate following. Well crafted organic content can make a difference in brand awareness in the social media space, but the average reach for organic posts is 5.5% of your follower count.
Another great example of organic content is blogging. Including a blog on your website is the best way to regularly add valuable content to your site and satisfy search algorithms. In the era we are in, where just about everything is virtual, the only way you can lean into the tools and platforms you have, is to stay current and “in the know” on how to get exposure and traffic to your business most effectively.
Currently, the “how” is SEO, or Search Engine Optimization and the stats don’t lie:
72% of online marketers describe content creation, or blogs, as their most effective SEO tactic.
57% of marketers say they’ve gained customers specifically through blogging.
Companies who blog get 97% more links to their websites.
By prioritizing blogging in your marketing strategy, you are 13x more likely to have a positive ROI on your efforts. If you are curious about adding blogging to your marketing or SEO strategy, schedule a free consultation to talk about the process and how blogs can benefit your business. We would love to help!
Paid / “Boosted” Content
Paid advertising on social media, also called “boosted” content, can be used in one of two ways.
1 - Boosting organic content posts that you want to reach more people.
2 - Push an Ad that is specifically designed to reach your target audience.
Since it can be difficult for organic content to stand out in the crowd, paid social media is a great way to reach more people due to its affordability. You can spend as little as $5 boosting a post, and still target a specific demographic to engage with your content, and increase brand awareness.
At Northwest Brand Design, we utilize these tools to curate content that fits your brand and your budget. We build demographic selections that will get you the most reach, and put your valuable dollars behind content that drives up your brand’s engagement on social media.
Media is evolving, but good design never goes out of style.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES:
Curating Content online
CONSISTENCY
Is key
This doesn’t mean you have to post the same content every time. However, using cues from your branding can help make your content immediately identifiable.
FIND YOUR
BRAND VOICE
Make sure that you’re speaking to your demographic, always. For example, you would use a different tone in copy for blogs and social media if you were targeting Boomers vs. Gen Z.
POSTING AND
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Not only will we curate branded content and create a posting schedule for your account, but we can push content live for you too!
Consistency Across Channels
It is important to curate content that is strategic and impactful. A brand that posts just to post is going to get jumbled and lost in the weeds. Northwest Brand Design can curate a balanced strategy that optimizes your target demographic, and balances organic and paid content to fit what works for you.
No matter where your customers are hearing from you — social media, your website, your blog, a print advertisement, etc,—your voice and visuals should remain consistent and on brand.
“[Northwest Brand Design has] done a smashing good job. Their comfort level with all the “techie” stuff was very reassuring.”
